The RxDefine platform provides a patient with the experience necessary to complete their telemedicine consultation and prescription order in the most seamless way possible.
After landing on the RxDefine platform from your medical provider, you can begin your telemedicine consultation.
Inputting your personal information
The first step in your consultation is to add your personal information. This includes setting up your login information, adding shipping information, as well as adding basic health information like sex, date of birth, height, and weight. RxDefine securely stores this information to ensure the highest level of security and privacy.
Next, we send an email verification email to the address on file. Please wait at least a minute for the email to arrive in your inbox. If you experience long delays, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further assistance.
Once your email has been verified, RxDefine will ask you to verify your identity. The platform will request that you to upload two items: 1) a copy of a photo ID (like a driver's license) and 2) a selfie to verify your identity. The platform gives you the option to take a live photo using your device or upload a saved image. Patients need to be 18 years or older to move forward with the consultation.
Next, you'll want to select your shipping option. You have two options here.
- Home delivery: you can select to have the prescription delivered to you at no cost
- Pickup at local pharmacy: you can choose a participating pharmacy to fulfill your prescription
We ask for payment information upfront to help you efficiently complete the payment process once your prescription is approved. At this step, you will input your payment information, but you will only be charged upon completion of the consultation.
An important step in the telemedicine consultation is the completion of your medical questionnaire. During the questionnaire, you will be asked a series of multiple-choice and free-response questions about your condition. Some conditions may also require you to add photos to better help the clinician during evaluation. You will need to upload these photos directly from your device.
After completing the questionnaire, the details of your telemedicine consultation will be evaluated by a doctor. Most telemedicine evaluations can be approved within 24 hours of submitting your consultation. You will receive an email notification when your evaluation is completed.
Depending on the results of your medical questionnaire, your doctor may request follow-up information through the patient/doctor chat in your provider's RxDefine platform. You will receive an email notification if the doctor follows up via chat.
In some cases, the doctor may choose to reject your prescription at this point. If this is the case, you will receive an email with a link providing you more details on why your prescription was rejected.
If rejected, you will not be charged for the telemedicine consultation and the medical prescription.
If you selected the home delivery option, upon telemedicine consultation approval, we will charge the card on file for the consultation and the medical prescription. You'll be able to track shipping details under Account > Orders. Orders ship within a few business days of payment.
Pickup at Local Pharmacy
If you selected the pickup at local pharmacy option, upon telemedicine consultation approval, we will charge the card on file for the consultation. From here, our service will ensure that your prescription is routed to your local pharmacy.
Since your pharmacy adjudicates your prescription, the pharmacy will inform you about the necessary prescription medication costs and any required copays. They will also handle the fulfillment of the medication. You can contact your local pharmacy to learn more about any applicable costs and updates on when your prescription will be ready for pickup.
